Visiting Athens one more time in order to attend a WordCamp event. I like WordCamps so much because I meet so many people from the community. I even met Dave Hilditch, one developer I highly admire (more on that later).
The most anticipated speech for me was “Scaling WooCommerce” by Dimitris Chatzimichailidis (CEO at digital challenge_). It was a super interesting topic, plus he is my boss and I really wanted him to do well. He doesn’t read my blog, so I can tell my honest opinion. He exceeded all expectations, it was a great speech, and other attendees liked it too.
The other speech I really liked was “Making WordPress faster and greener” by Dave Hilditch from WP Intense. He is an expert in performance in WordPress, a developer of some awesome plugins I use, and a notable contributor to the WordPress ecosystem in general.
The next day, I attended the contributor’s day. I joined the translation team, where we contributed by translating some plugins.
